The safety and well-being of every child in the FBCC After School Program is our highest priority. We maintain clear procedures and employ trained staff to ensure that students are cared for in a secure, supervised environment each day.
Trained Staff
Our staff members are trained in CPR and First Aid, ensuring they are prepared to respond quickly and appropriately should a medical situation arise. At least one trained staff member is present with students at all times.
Transportation Safety
Students are transported from Choudrant Elementary to the After School Program by authorized staff. When students load the van, they are checked in to the center so staff can account for each child upon arrival. During transportation, children remain under direct staff supervision, and all transportation procedures follow Louisiana safety regulations.
Secure Facility
For the safety of both students and staff, ASP center doors remain locked during operating hours. Access to the building is limited to staff and authorized visitors.
The program uses a secure keypad entry system that allows parents and authorized guardians to enter the building using a unique access code. This system helps ensure that only approved individuals are able to access the facility during program hours while maintaining a safe and controlled environment for students.
Student Check-Out Procedures
To ensure children leave safely with the correct person, students may only be released to a parent or an authorized pick-up person who is 18 years of age or older. The authorized adult must present identification and sign the student out before leaving with the child.
Emergency Preparedness
Our program maintains procedures for weather emergencies, crisis situations, and medical incidents. Staff members follow established safety protocols and contact parents or emergency contacts immediately if a situation arises that requires medical attention or evacuation.
